This lesson is a very straightforward, easy-to-teach lesson that students will enjoy. The lesson is based around three funny school poems taken from the excellent website gigglepoetry.com.
The lesson consists of:
• Funny caption starter
• Lesson objectives
• Images from the poems (students must try and work out what the poem will be about)
• Poems
• Evaluation of the poems (did any student guess close to the poem from the image?)
• Prompt to write their own funny poem and share at the end
• Poetry words bingo – caller’s card and 30 unique cards – excellent fun finish to the lesson
